About the role
Assist with shot preparation, camera setup, lighting, framing, and visual storytelling on filmed projects. You’ll work alongside the camera team and learn how a shot gets designed, lit, and captured, and how gear is handled on a real set.
What you’ll do
- Build, rig, and break down camera packages, lenses, and support gear
- Assist with lighting setups and grip work
- Develop shot lists, storyboards, and lookbooks with the director and DP
- Slate, pull focus, and keep shot logs and camera reports
- Manage media: offload cards, back up footage, and keep files organized
- Operate camera on B-roll and behind-the-scenes shoots
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience with a DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema camera (student and personal projects count)
- Understanding of exposure, focal length, frame rates, and composition
- Basic lighting knowledge: three-point lighting, natural light, and practicals
- Care with expensive equipment and attention to on-set safety
- The stamina to carry gear and work long shoot days
- Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Experience with gimbals, sliders, or drones (drone work requires an FAA Part 107 certificate)
- Color and LUT basics, or experience in DaVinci Resolve
- On-set experience as a camera assistant, grip, or electric
What you’ll gain
- Real camera-department experience on set
- Footage and credits for your reel
- Mentorship from directors of photography
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Camera work is hands-on, so shoot days are in person. Remote interns focus on pre-production (shot lists, storyboards, and lookbooks).
How to apply
Attach your resume and include a link to a reel or portfolio of footage you shot (stills are welcome too) in the message box on the application form.
