About the role
We’re seeking creative, thoughtful interns to help develop compelling characters for film, scripted audio, musical theatre, and other storytelling projects. You’ll work with writers and directors to turn early ideas into people an audience believes in, with clear wants, real flaws, and a voice of their own.
What you’ll do
- Build character profiles, backstories, and relationship maps for projects in development
- Define each character’s goals, conflicts, and arc across the full story
- Write sample scenes, monologues, and dialogue passes that test a character’s voice
- Join story meetings and table reads, and note what is and isn’t landing
- Adapt characters across formats: a screen role, a scripted-audio lead, or a stage musical
- Keep each project’s character bible and continuity notes up to date
What we’re looking for
- A real passion for character-driven stories across film, audio, and stage
- Writing that shows you can create distinct, believable voices
- Coursework or self-directed practice in creative writing, screenwriting, theatre, or literature
- Comfort giving and receiving honest notes in a collaborative room
- Strong organization and follow-through on deadlines
- Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Acting, improv, or theatre experience (performers often make great character writers)
- Familiarity with story structure and character-arc frameworks
- Experience with Final Draft, WriterDuet, Celtx, or a similar script tool
What you’ll gain
- Hands-on experience shaping characters for projects headed into production
- Regular feedback from working writers and directors
- Portfolio-ready writing and credit on the projects you contribute to
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Remote interns join story meetings and table reads over video, so you’ll need a computer and reliable internet.
How to apply
Attach your resume and include a link to a writing sample (a scene, short story, or character piece of up to 10 pages) in the message box on the application form.
