About the role
Create original music, themes, cues, and scores for songs, filmed productions, scripted audio, and other creative projects. You’ll write music that serves the story: scoring scenes, developing character themes, and delivering cues to spec and on deadline.
What you’ll do
- Compose original themes, underscore, and cues for film, scripted audio, and podcasts
- Score to picture and to script, matching mood, pacing, and timing
- Develop recurring musical themes for characters and key moments
- Produce mockups with virtual instruments and prepare stems for mixing
- Revise cues based on notes from directors and producers
- Write intros, outros, and transitions for podcasts and series
What we’re looking for
- Proficiency in a DAW (Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, or similar) and virtual instruments
- A working grasp of harmony, melody, and orchestration basics
- The ability to write in a range of styles and moods
- The discipline to take notes and hit deadlines
- Coursework in composition, film scoring, or music production, or self-taught equivalent
- Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Notation software such as Sibelius, Dorico, MuseScore, or Finale
- Experience writing for live players
- Sample library experience (Spitfire, Native Instruments, or similar)
- Scoring credits on student films, games, or podcasts
What you’ll gain
- Composer credits on released projects
- Music scored to picture for your reel
- Mentorship from working composers and producers
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Remote interns need a computer with a DAW, virtual instruments, and quality headphones or monitors.
How to apply
Attach your resume and include links to 2–4 original compositions (scoring to picture is a plus) in the message box on the application form.
