About the role
Develop lyrics, melodies, hooks, and song concepts through individual writing and collaborative sessions. You’ll write for artists, soundtracks, and projects in development, and learn how professional writing rooms turn an idea into a finished song.
What you’ll do
- Write lyrics, melodies, and hooks for original songs
- Join co-writing sessions with producers, artists, and other writers
- Write to a brief: songs for a specific artist, scene, character, or campaign
- Capture ideas in rough demos and voice memos
- Revise songs based on feedback from producers and collaborators
- Keep lyric sheets, demos, and session notes organized
What we’re looking for
- Original songs that show strong lyrics and a feel for melody and structure
- Comfort co-writing and adapting to different genres
- The ability to take criticism and rewrite
- Consistency: you write regularly, not only when inspiration strikes
- Respect for collaborators and their ideas in the room
- Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Guitar, piano, or another instrument
- Basic production or DAW skills for demos
- Understanding of song splits, publishing, and PROs such as ASCAP or BMI
- Experience writing for film, TV, or musical theatre
What you’ll gain
- Co-writing experience with working producers and artists
- Songwriting credits on songs that are recorded or released
- Feedback on your craft from experienced writers
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Remote interns co-write over video and share demos online, so you’ll need a computer or phone, headphones, and reliable internet.
How to apply
Attach your resume and include links to 2–3 original songs (rough demos and phone recordings are fine) in the message box on the application form.
