About the role
Assist with recording sessions, microphone setup, audio editing, session organization, and mix preparation. You’ll be in sessions for music, voice, and podcasts, learning how a clean recording is captured and handed off for mixing.
What you’ll do
- Set up and break down sessions: mics, cables, stands, headphones, and interfaces
- Help engineers choose and place mics for vocals, instruments, and voice-over
- Run sessions in a DAW: create tracks, punch in, and keep takes organized
- Edit audio: comping, timing, noise cleanup, and fades
- Prepare sessions for mixing, export stems, and back up files
- Maintain studio gear and keep the room session-ready
What we’re looking for
- Working knowledge of at least one DAW (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Reaper, or similar)
- A basic understanding of signal flow, gain staging, and microphone types
- Good critical listening skills
- Careful organization of files and session notes
- A calm, professional presence around artists
- Coursework in audio engineering or music technology, or self-taught home-studio experience. Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Pro Tools experience
- EQ, compression, and noise-reduction plugins such as iZotope RX
- Some mixing experience
- Playing an instrument or singing
What you’ll gain
- Hands-on studio session experience
- Engineering credits on released projects
- Mentorship from working engineers and producers
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Tracking sessions are in person. Remote interns handle editing and session prep, so you’ll need a computer with a DAW and good headphones.
How to apply
Attach your resume and include a link to something you recorded, edited, or mixed, and list the DAWs you use in the message box on the application form.
