About the role
Create and edit sound effects, atmospheres, and other audio elements that support storytelling. You’ll help build the sound world for films, audio dramas, and podcasts, from footsteps and room tone to scenes the audience only hears.
What you’ll do
- Design and edit sound effects, ambiences, and transitions
- Record foley and field sounds
- Edit dialogue: cleanup, noise reduction, and sync
- Build layered soundscapes for audio dramas and scripted podcasts
- Prepare tracks for the final mix and help with stems and delivery
- Organize and tag the sound effects library
What we’re looking for
- Working knowledge of a DAW (Pro Tools, Reaper, Adobe Audition, Logic Pro, or similar)
- A basic understanding of editing, EQ, and noise reduction
- A creative ear and an eye for detail (you notice the sound in what you watch and hear)
- Good file organization and naming habits
- The ability to take notes and revise on deadline
- Coursework or self-taught experience in audio production, film sound, or music technology. Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Foley or field recording experience
- iZotope RX or similar audio repair tools
- Knowledge of loudness standards and mix delivery specs
- Interest in game or spatial (immersive) audio
What you’ll gain
- Sound credits on released films and audio productions
- Portfolio pieces that show your design work
- Mentorship from audio post-production professionals
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Remote interns need a computer with a DAW and quality headphones or studio monitors.
How to apply
