About the role
Narrate written material while developing pacing, pronunciation, character voices, and storytelling skills. Narration is long-form performance: you’ll learn to stay consistent across chapters and keep a listener absorbed in the story.
What you’ll do
- Narrate chapters, short stories, and long-form written content
- Prep manuscripts: research pronunciations and mark character voices and emotional beats
- Keep character voices and tone consistent across an entire book
- Work with a director or producer on pacing, clarity, and tone
- Record pickups and corrections that match earlier sessions
- Learn audiobook recording standards and basic file preparation
What we’re looking for
- A clear, expressive reading voice and a love of books
- Accurate reading over long sessions, with few stumbles and a steady pace
- Experience reading aloud through theatre, voice work, broadcasting, or self-recorded samples
- Patience and focus for detailed, repetitive work
- Commitment to finishing long projects
- Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Basic audio editing in Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, or similar
- Experience with character voices or accents
- Familiarity with audiobook platform standards such as ACX
What you’ll gain
- Narration credits on completed audiobook projects
- Finished samples for your narration portfolio
- Coaching on long-form performance and session technique
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Remote interns record from home, so you’ll need a quiet, sound-treated space, a quality microphone, and headphones.
How to apply
Attach your resume and include a link to a 2–5 minute narration sample (fiction or nonfiction) in the message box on the application form.
