About the role
Develop and record harmonies, backing vocals, and ensemble vocal parts. Great background vocals make a record feel bigger and a hook hit harder. You’ll learn to build vocal stacks, blend with other voices, and always serve the song.
What you’ll do
- Create and record harmonies, doubles, stacks, and ad-libs for songs in production
- Learn existing parts by ear or from charts and lock in tightly with lead vocalists
- Help producers and arrangers build vocal arrangements
- Sing in group sessions for choir-style, gospel, and ensemble arrangements
- Help the engineer comp and organize vocal takes
- Sing backup in live and filmed performances
What we’re looking for
- A strong ear and accurate pitch, especially when singing against other parts
- Harmony experience from choir, a cappella, worship teams, bands, or theatre
- The ability to match tone, vibrato, and phrasing with other singers
- Patience and consistency through repeated takes
- Reliability and preparation for every session
- Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Experience arranging vocal parts
- Basic music theory or sight-reading
- Studio recording experience
What you’ll gain
- Session experience on real productions
- Credit on the tracks you sing on
- A stronger ear for arranging and vocal blend
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Remote interns record parts at home, so you’ll need a quiet space, a quality microphone, and closed-back headphones.
How to apply
Attach your resume and include links to 1–3 recordings, ideally one where you sing a harmony or stacked part (a layered phone recording is fine) in the message box on the application form.
