About the role
Help develop concepts, evaluate story ideas, prepare project summaries, and support creative planning. Development is where projects are chosen and shaped, and you’ll help decide what gets made and why.
What you’ll do
- Read and evaluate scripts, pitches, books, and treatments, and write coverage
- Prepare loglines, synopses, one-pagers, and pitch decks
- Brainstorm and pitch original concepts for film, scripted audio, and stage
- Research market trends, comparable titles, and audiences
- Track projects in development and keep notes and timelines current
- Take clear notes in creative meetings
What we’re looking for
- A strong sense of story and the ability to explain why something works or doesn’t
- Clear, concise writing
- Broad knowledge of film, TV, podcasts, theatre, and music
- Organization and comfort juggling several projects at once
- Coursework or experience in film, media, writing, or communications, or equivalent self-study
- Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Pitch decks built in Google Slides, Canva, or Keynote
- A basic understanding of how projects are financed and produced
- Experience as a script reader or story analyst
What you’ll gain
- Inside experience with how projects are picked and shaped
- Mentorship from producers and development leads
- Coverage and pitch samples for your portfolio
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. This role works well remotely; you’ll need a computer and reliable internet for meetings.
