About the role
Develop scripts, scenes, dialogue, and revisions for film and other scripted productions. You’ll work in a writers’-room setting, pitching, drafting, and rewriting, and see how pages change on the way to production.
What you’ll do
- Draft scenes, sequences, and dialogue for film and scripted projects
- Write revisions based on notes from producers and directors
- Help break story with beat sheets, outlines, and treatments
- Pitch ideas, scenes, and jokes in writers’-room sessions
- Read and write coverage on scripts and source material
- Format and proofread scripts to industry standards
What we’re looking for
- At least one completed writing sample: a short film, pilot, feature, or a few strong scenes
- Understanding of screenplay format and story structure
- Sharp dialogue and a clear sense of character
- The ability to take notes and turn revisions around on deadline
- Final Draft, WriterDuet, Celtx, or a similar tool (or willingness to learn one quickly)
- Current students, recent graduates, and self-taught applicants are all welcome — no professional credits required
Nice to have
- Experience writing for audio drama, stage, or web series
- Script coverage experience
- A short you wrote that was produced
What you’ll gain
- Pages written for projects in active development
- Notes from working writers and producers
- Writing credit when your work makes it into production
Where you’ll work
Las Vegas, NV, in person or remote. Remote interns join writers’-room sessions over video, so you’ll need a computer and reliable internet.
How to apply
